“Hard times are coming, when we’ll be wanting the voices of artists who can see alternatives to how we live now……
We’ll need writers who can remember freedom — poets, visionaries: realists of a larger reality.” …..Ursula K. Leguin
The words of writer Ursula Leguin have been important to many artists and writers these days, as we face profound change and challenges on many levels. In connection with the wonderful artists exhibiting at the concurrent Show “Dreams, Deities & Archetypes” in the Gallery, The Southern AZ Friends of Jung (SAFOJ) will present a talk by Lauren Raine about some of the visionary artists she met while interviewing them for a series of articles in the early 90’s and beyond. The Presentation will include excerpts from those interviews, in particular Alex and Alison Grey. The Presentation will also include video from a TED Talk Alex Grey gave on the creation of his “Sacred Mirrors”, a stunning collection of paintings that took 10 years to create. Please join us, and join the discussion!
